DescriptionA man sits with his back against a tree, with his eyes closed, apparently asleep. He wears a cap, coat, trousers, and perhaps a sweater or vest. A game bag is in his lap and his gun rests in the crook of his arm. Beside him on a piece of paper are a ham or loaf of bread, a knife, a sausage, and some bones. A bottle of wine with a wicker cover is on the grass nearby. Two rabbits are in a field in the left background.
NotesTitle Note: The CHS impression has been trimmed close to the image and the title is lacking. An impression in the Salmon Brook Historical Society is inscribed: "THE RABBIT HUNTER. (Refreshing) / 68." (Finlay 9/6/2005)
