DescriptionLarge group of men, all wearing hats and some carrying canes, walking down the middle of Central Row, beside the Old State House. Trolley tracks are in the middle of the street. Two trolley cars are in the background. Automobiles and a horse-drawn wagon are at the side of the road. An umbrella and barrels are on the wagon. Two boys walk alongside. Businesses visible along Main Street include the Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Company, State Bank and Phoenix National Bank. Inscribed on back: "City officials / outing. Starting / to the station / July 23, 1913 / Mayor Cheney in the middle / City Clerk H.F. Smith at his left / Ald. Hogan at his right."
