DescriptionView down Pratt Street towards Main Street. Sage Allen & Co. occupies the first floor of the building with round-arched windows and an elaborate cornice at the end of the street. Black bunting is draped from the upper stories. Shop windows on the first floor are draped with American flags. Signs on commercial buildings on Pratt Street read: "No. 11 / Lloyd / Studi[o]" "Pratt S[t] / Hair Stor[e] / No. 17 / Ladies /Hairdressin[g] / Parlors." "Manicure / Face / Massage / Shampooing / Specialist." Some of the buildings have striped awnings.
NotesSubject Note: Alice T. McQuillan operated the Hair Store at 17 Pratt Street. President William McKinley died from an assassin's bullet on 14 September 1901. Jerome E. Sage, Normand F. Allen and Clifford O. Moore were the partners in Sage, Allen & Co., a dry goods store at 898 Main Street.
