NotesDate Note: Penn Central was created from a merger of the Pennsylvania Railroad and the New York Central Railroad in 1968. In 1969, the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad was added. By 1970, Penn Central had filed for bankruptcy. In 1976, it was taken over by Conrail.
