DescriptionA young man and a young woman stand in the interior of a dining room. The man wears a coat, vest, shirt, necktie, trousers, and shoes. He holds his hat in his hand. The woman wears a dress and a veil. A flower, probably a rose, is at her throat. She holds a handkerchief in her left hand. The left hand of the woman and the right hand of the man are joined. Breakfast dishes, including a teapot, a coffee pot, eggcups, plates, and silverware, are on a round table covered with a tablecloth. A woman holding a fan and a bald man with eyeglasses holding a quill pen are seated at the table. Two young men or boys stand behind them. A middle-aged woman wearing a cap is in the left background. She holds a tray containing a decanter and two glasses. A framed picture, probably an oil painting, hangs from a long cord with two tassels. A church steeple is visible through a window in the right background, partially hidden by fringed drapery.
