The children, who are either two girls or a little girl and a little boy, both wear short skirts and have bags attached at their waists. One child appears to wear a chemise or slip with eyelet trim. The other wears pantaloons with eyelet trim. The couple stand in a grassy field or lane with a rail fence and bushes behind them. The steeple of a church is in the left background.
