DescriptionLarge group of elderly men pose on a grassy lawn in front of a picket fence. Most have beards or mustaches. Some wear medals. An African American man sits at the far left. One man wears eyeglasses. Inscribed on back: "Civil War Veterans (all members of the G.A.R.) assembled at / Lakeville, Ct., June 14, 1915, at the annual reunion of the Tri-State G.A.R. Association, comprising some 1/2 doz. Posts in / this vicinity. Several persons with group (e.g. Saxe of Waterbury, on the extreme right as you view the picture) were guests of the Ass'n. All others / were members." "This picture on lawn in front of fence between Nononsco [?] House and residence of Miss / C.K. Williams. / Fifty years after close of the Civil War. 71 veterans in this picture. / 1865-1915."
