DescriptionThree elderly women and a man stand outside in front of a brick and wood frame house with awnings. Another house and bushes are visible in the background. Columns are at the front doorway, as well as what appears to be a hanging basket, probably for mail. Two of the women appear to be wearing eyeglasses.
NotesSubject Note: The identities of the subjects are uncertain. The names on verso of this image do not completely match up with other labeled images in the collection. On this image, the man is identified as Arthur Lewis. But in two other images (2002.73.6 and 2002.73.7), which are clearly of the same man, he is identified as Merton Whitford. Arthur Lewis is probably the correct identity, however, because in a third case, 2002.73.4, the man is again identified as Mr. Lewis.
Two of the women in the image are Hattie Bugbee and Lena Bugbee Lewis, which would coincide with 'Mrs. Lewis and Sister'. The third woman appears to be Leila Smart, identified from 2002.34.1-.14.
