NotesSubject note: Walter Chalmers Smith, the son of Walter Smith and Barbara Milne, was born in Alberdeen, Scotland on Decemeber 5, 1824. He attended Marischal College at the University of Aberdeen and became the ordained pastor of the Chadwell Street Scottish Church in London on December 25, 1850. He became the moderator of the Free Church of Scotland in 1893. He married Agnes Monteith in 1855 and they had 4 children, one of wom was Mary Barbara Monteith Smith Keller. He died on September 19, 1908.
Subject note: Agnes Monteith-Smith, the daughter of Rev. James Monteith and Margaret Darling Thomson, was born in Glasgow, Scotland, on February 15, 1822. She married Walter Chalmers Smith in 1855 and they had 4 children, one of whom was Mary Barbara Monteith Smith Keller. She died June 2,1880.On View
