DescriptionIndustrial factory complex with smokestack on timber lined Thames River. Two people are at door on left closest to water edge. In front of largest building is a steam locomotive with freight cars on track of the New London Northern Railroad. There are two sailboats in foreground. Attached on left of buildings appears to be a house with vines on a porch, outbuildings and a picket fence. On right are additional buildings.
NotesSubject Note: C. B. Rogers and Company moved main offices and factory from Massachusetts to Thames Street, Norwich in 1860 and manufactured woodworking machinery. In 1883, advertised machines for car makers, sash and millwork, builders, mills, cabinet and carriage makers.
