DescriptionGroup of twenty-two men wearing suits, various shirt collar styles, bow ties, ties, coats and hats stand on masonry steps of brick industrial or office building. Two men wear eyeglasses, others have watch chains. Sign over porch "Pratt & Whitney Company". Pair of Ionic columns, possibly polished granite, flank double doors with bottle glass insets. Building has brick dentil molding and large windows.
NotesSubject Note: Pratt and Whitney Company established in 1860, incorporated in 1869. Small Tool Department was at 285 Flower Street. General Offices were at 1 Flower Street. Pratt and Whitney Company manufactured a wide range of precision machinery, metal tools and parts.
