DescriptionIndustrial factory complex with smokestack on timber lined Thames River and track of the New London Northern Railroad. Four people are at door near waters edge. There is a sailboat in foreground. Attached on left of buildings appears to be a house with vines on a porch, outbuildings and a picket fence. On right are additional buildings and utility pole. Inscription on back: "C. B. Rogers woodworking on Thames St" "Norwich / New London Northern Railroad track runs along bank of river"
NotesSubject Note: C. B. Rogers and Company moved main offices and factory from Massachusetts to Thames Street, Norwich in 1860 and manufactured woodworking machinery. In 1883, advertised machines for car makers, sash and millwork, builders, mills, cabinet and carriage makers.
