DescriptionSteamer docked at the head of the Thames River in Norwich, at the junction of the Yantic and the Shetucket. A sign on the bow reads: "Norwich Line via New London." The excursion steamer Ella is near the bow of the other ship. In front of the ship is a schooner-rigged steam yacht. A coal barge is at a large dock at the left, with a catboat or cat-rigged sailboat in front of it. The shore in the background is lined with houses and industrial buildings.
