DescriptionBlack leather, front-lacing, whole-foxed boots with a high stacked heel in a Louis shape. The toe is very pointed and narrow; a line of decorative stitching and small punch marks cross the toe of each boot. The foxing has a decoratively scalloped edge; the front fox overlaps the heel fox where they meet at the sides of the boots. The top edge of the boot is curved, with the front higher than the back. The boot is laced through nineteen pairs of eyelets; the lace is plaited black cotton with metal tips. A thin, black leather tongue, lined in plain-woven cotton backs the lacing. The boots are lined in twill-woven white cotton. The boots are shaped for right and left feet. A thin layer of silver-tone metal is set in the stacked heel, above the "top piece" (the bottom layer of leather).
