DescriptionDressing gown (.a): Woman's long-sleeved dressing gown of white cotton. It opens down the length of the center front, fastening with thirteen mother of pearl buttons. The high, round neckline is finished with a standing ruffle of torchon lace. Diagonal strips of torchon lace alternating with whitework embroidery form a yoke effect across the front and extend in a panel down the center front. The sleeves are similarly trimmed at the wrist openings. The bottom of the dressing gown around the sides and back is decorated with a 3 1/2-inch-deep, self-fabric ruffle stitched with two narrow tucks around the bottom. The ruffle is headed by two narrow tucks, also.

Drawers (.b): Woman's white cotton drawers, lightly gathered into the waistband, which buttons at the center back. The legs are decorated with rows of pintucking and edged with a 2 1/2-inch row of diagonal insertions of torchon lace alternating with whitework embroidery. The bottom is edged with scalloped torchon lace

Petticoat (.c): White cotton petticoat, with drawstring closure. The lower 12 1/2 inches are decorated a wide tuck, a row of seven narrow tucks, and a flounce of self-fabric with insertion of torchon lace, pintucked self-fabric, and scalloped edging of torchon lace.
