DescriptionDress: Sleeveless, unfitted, dropped waist, woman's evening dress; black crepe on top to waist; red, green, and grey with gold metallic floral and leaf design on skirt fabric. Floral motif from skirt fabric is cut out and appliquéd onto the center front neckline. Thin shoulder straps. The left front side of the skirt is gathered on a diagonal, beginning eight inches below the waist seam at the side.

Belt: Belt of self fabric. Buckle is metal and enamelled red, black, mint green in an Art Deco design.

Coat: Woman's evening coat, matching dress number 2002.47.1a. The coat is unfitted, falling straight from shoulders. Wide shawl collar is appliquéd with flowers cut out from dress skirt fabric, which is patterned with metallic gold leaves and large gray, rusty red, and blue flowers and green leaves. The bottom edge of the coat is trimmed with a four-inch-wide band of black fur. The sleeves are long. A tuck has been taken 3 1/2 inches above wrist opening to simulate a cuff. The sleeves are made tight around the wrist with four small, self-covered buttons and thread loops.

Hat: Burnt orange velvet cloche hat, lined in shot blue/green silk. Center top is drawn together into a circular design. The hat is edged in metallic gold ribbon and has an appliquéd floral motif in front. Orange hem tape edges inside edge of hat.
