DescriptionMan wearing coat, gloves and hat at the wheel of an open touring car with "Columbia" written on the hood. A sign on the side of the automobile reads: "Official Pilot Car All Connecticut Reliability Contest." Probably Hartford. The front tire bears the inscription: "Hartford Quick Detachable Clincher."
NotesSubject Note: The Connecticut Reliability Contest took place on May 19, 20, and 21, 1910, under the auspices of the Automobile Club of Hartford. The contest was won by G. M. Wagner in a Columbia Motor Car made in Hartford. Pilot cars served to guide contestants on the complicated course, which covered six hundred miles.
