DescriptionDrawing of Duffy Square in the Times Square area of Manhattan. The statue of George M. Cohan is in the foreground; behind it is the Studebaker Building (now demolished) with the Sony sign on its roof. A Coca-Cola sign (with digital clock) and Castro Convertibles sign are visible on the side of a building in between the Studebaker and the statue. What is probably a sign for Howard (a men's clothing store) is visible on the right side of the Studebaker Building. On the left is Broadway and on the right is 7th Avenue, both of them lined with buildings and advertisements. On Broadway, there are signs for Burger King, 7Up, Playland (an arcade) and Mamma Leone's. On 7th Avenue, there are signs and ads for Canon's AT-1 camera, Flagg, the Wienerwald Restaurant & Bar, the Embassy Theater (showing Oh God!) with what appears to be an ad for Oh! Calcutta! above it, and Panasonic. Pedestrian and automobile and bus traffic is also pictured.
NotesDate Note: The advertisements place the date of the original drawing for this print at probably 1977.
