DescriptionDark green silk damask shoes, with an oval toe and Louis heel. Latchets extending from dog leg seams cross the instep; on shoe ".a" they are held by a rectangular steel buckle, stamped along the length of each side with an "XXXXX" design and at the corners and center with rayed circular motifs. The tongue is wide and square. The silk is lined with plain-woven white cotton; it is bound with lighter green silk tape. The sock lining is brown leather. A white kid rand is stitched into the shoe between the silk upper and leather sole around the forepart of the shoe. The soles are straight and continuous. The top piece of the heel is pegged, as well as stitched.
