DescriptionA group of men sit in chairs, apparently at a lecture illustrated with lanternslides. All wear suits and many have mustaches or beards. A man in the front row holds his hat in his lap. A projector with electrical cords connecting to a wall outlet is on a stand at the back of the room. A long table with a white tablecloth is in the foreground. The transom above the door is open. The room has a cove ceiling with dentil moldings and wood paneling on the back wall. Chandeliers hold a combination of electric light bulbs and candles.
NotesSubject Note: The Hillyer Institute was the Educational Department of the Hartford YMCA. The YMCA was located at 315-323 Pearl Street, at the corner of Jewell Street.
