DescriptionYoung men seated at easels copy plaster casts of classical sculpture. One man sits in a folding chair. A stout middle-aged man, probably the teacher, stands by one of the students. Electric light bulbs with shades hang from the ceiling on wires. Several posters are mounted on the back wall. Two of these read: "Hartford / circa 1900 [?]"
NotesSubject Note: The Hillyer Institute was the Educational Department of the Hartford YMCA. The YMCA was located at 315-323 Pearl Street, at the corner of Jewell Street.
