DescriptionIn an interior, seven young men sit copying plaster casts. Two of them wear eyeshades, one wears eyeglasses, two have mustaches. Their drawings are supported on easels. Framed oil paintings and prints hang on the walls. A cluster of three electric light bulbs hands from exposed wires in the center of the room. A potted plant is in the right background.
NotesSubject Note: The Hillyer Institute was the Educational Department of the Hartford YMCA. The YMCA was located at 315-323 Pearl Street, at the corner of Jewell Street.
