DescriptionA bearded man holding a hat is seated in a chair. A woman in a dark dress stands beside a second chair. A third chair is empty. A white horse is hitched to an open carriage at the left. The house appears to be a large center-chimney Colonial with additions at the back. There is a trellis at the side of the house and a small garden with lilies and other flowers. Vines grow around the doorway and on the addition. Most of the trees are evergreens, apparently pines.
