DescriptionA boy on a horse, blurred from movement, an old bearded man leaning on two canes, and a bearded man in hat and coat with a fur robe over his lap seated in an open carriage drawn by a horse pose in front of a stone wall topped with chicken wire. Four women pose in the yard behind the fence in front of a one and a half-story house with an addition at the right. A porch on the addition is supported on scroll-sawn brackets. The shutters, the door and the surrounding entablature are painted in contrasting colors. A picket fence and an arbor are to the right. The trees in the yard appear to be fruit trees, probably apple trees. A ladder is leaning against the large tree at the right. A barn and another outbuilding are just visible at the far right.
