DescriptionWoman's white cotton petticoat, smoothly fitted at center front and around hips, and pleated and gathered on a drawstring at center back. The center back is open for ten inches. The petticoat has a 1 3/8-inch-wide tuck above a 19 1/2-inch-deep flounce, which is stitched over the petticoat so that there is a double layer for extra fullness. Ths flounce is decorated with inset triangles of machine-made bobbin lace strips, sewn together. More strips are sewn together to form the 6 1/2-inch ruffle which edges the bottom of the flounce. Underneath the flounce, the petticoat is edged with a 4 1/2-inch self-fabric ruffle finished with more lace. There is a white cotton tape hanging loop stitched inside the center front waist.
