DescriptionTwo women in front of five-bay Georgian style house with louvered shutters in Franklin, Connecticut. One woman rests hand on small wooden rocking chair, the other woman on a bench with back and wears an apron. Wide corner pilasters and wide frieze with dentil molding. Large striped awning over front entry partially obscures door with sidelights. Large vertical sided barn to rear and left of house, small outbuilding to rear and right. Rail fencing and four line-wire on both sides of house. Gate to right of house includes unmilled rail pediment archway with vertical upright in top center. Three hitching posts along dirt road in front of the house. Possibly a house with public use.

The Franklin Historical Society has identified the house as the Ashbel Woodward house in Franklin, Connecticut, not Mansfield.
