DescriptionRough sketch of the central part of Ellington from the west. On the left, behind a "Virginia" rail fence is a tavern with a hanging sign. The Congregational Church is in the center, largely hidden by two trees. These trees are eliminated from the more finished drawings and wood engraving. A detail of the distant buildings is above the main drawing.
