DescriptionBlack leather slippers with rounded square toe, long vamp, square throatline, and flat, straight sole. The vamp is decorated with a black silk ribbon rosette over a bow. The slippers are lined with plain-woven linen in the vamp, and blue and white striped silk in the quarters, which has worn away to reveal a thin leather heel stiffener. The sock lining is white kidskin. The throatline is bound with narrow black silk ribbon. One very narrow black silk tape remains stitched to the side of slipper ".a"--originally, the slippers had a pair of ties that sould have laced around the ankle.
