DescriptionView of the central part of New Britain. Beyond "Apple" trees and fields separated by fences, the village appears as a complex of industrial buildings, residential buildings and outbuildings. Inscriptions indicate the locations of a "canal," the "Methodist Ch[urch]," "North & Stanley Brass Factory," a "white house," the home of "Wm. North" and a "Brick" house the home of "Mr. Frederick Stanley." The hills in the background lie "Beyond [the] Connecticut River."
