DescriptionView of the central part of Wallingford. The building on the left with the steeple and weathervane is the Congregational Church. Behind it, on the same side of the street, is the "Baptist" Church. A large building without a steeple or chimney, is the Episcopal Church. Houses and other buildings line the streets on the right. The trees on the right are labeled "Button wood;" the trees in front of the Baptist Church are identified as poplars in Barber's text.
