DescriptionOval portraits of two men wearing coats, shirts, and ties are surrounded by laurel leaves and linked by a lone star. Inscriptions above the portraits read: "JAMES K. POLK." "GEORGE M. DALLAS." An eagle with spread wings is perched on a cloud above the two portraits. The rays of the sun are behind the eagle. Below the portraits are six American flags and maps of Oregon and Texas. Fringed drapes frame the upper part of the composition, and rosettes linked by fringe frame the lower part.
