DescriptionDistant view of Poquetanuck, a village in the town of Preston. A "sawmill" is in the left foreground, behind some large rocks. Houses and other buildings are clustered along the road as it winds into the distance. A "stone wall" divides fields on the right. The large church on the far right is the Episcopal Church. A detail of one of the houses is above the main drawing in the left. Notes above the drawing read, in part: "Sloops can get with[in] 1/2 mile of village at high water / considerable quantities of ship timber & plank exported ... water brought by aqueduc t... sea-faring men live in the village.."
