DescriptionRound brass token, used a token of membership of the temperance group the Cold Water Army. Inscriptions in relief on both sides. Side one reads around the edge, "MERIDEN / COLD WATER ARMY"; in the center, "EXCELCIOR / TRUTH DIVISION". Small starts around edges, and scroll-work decoration fill in spaces between words. Side two reads beginning at the top edge, "TOKEN OF MEMBERSHIP / WE / PLEDGE / TOTAL ABSTINENCE / FROM / ALL THAT INTOXICATES". Small hole at the top of the token.
