DescriptionThe jail is on the left. The Court House, a large building with a cupola is in the center, framed by tall trees, apparently elms. The church is on the right. The area in the foreground is the town green. According to Barber's text, the buildings occupy the same foundations on which similar buildings stood prior to the burning of Fairfield by the British in 1779
