DescriptionView of the Congregational churches in the central part of Durham. The church on the left, labeled "4 fluted pillars," is the new Congregational Church, erected in 1835. To its right, labeled "6 or more narrow pillars," is the old Congregational Church. According to Barber's text the old church was taken down a few days after this drawing was made. Houses appear at the left, right and between the two churches. A "maple" and "fruit trees" are also between the churches and a row of "Button Woods" is to the right.
