DescriptionTwo different sketches of a complex of industrial buildings, probably the Salisbury Iron Manufacturing Co., located near the Great Falls of the Housatonic River. Large rocks, trees and mountains appear in the lower drawing. The upper drawing includes additional buildings and a raceway providing water power for the factory. This area was called Canaan Falls until 1840 when the railroad station was named Falls Village and this name was adopted by the community
