DescriptionView of Haddam with the Connecticut River to the left. The middle of the drawing is the center of town and the large building on the right is the Congregational Church. The drawing was done at a point on a hill half a mile northwest of the Courthouse in the center of town. The notations along the top of the sketch road from L to R: "Salmon River, E. Haddam landing, Court House of Granite, Qarries [Quarries." The foreground of the sketch includes a seated man drawing probably a self-portrait of the artist
