In the back row on the left is Emily "Milly" Cheney (1864-1952), standing next to Ellen "Nell" Cheney (1862-1938). In the middle row, left to right, are: Harriet "Hart" Cheney (1867-1938), "Ned", who is probably Edward Moyle Cheney (1862-1888), and Elizabeth "Bess" Cheney (1865-1898). In the front row, left to right, are: Frank Cheney, Jr. (1860-1957), Helen Cheney (1868-1937), and Charles Adams Platt (1861-1933). Frank and Charles are slouching, with their legs extended and their ankles crossed. Charles has a slight mustache.
