DescriptionDrawing of the reconstruction of the Civic Center's roof in downtown Hartford, Connecticut, from a ground-level perspective in front of one of the entrances. The roof construction consists of a metal frame. A crane is depicted carrying some kind of building material. There are construction workers on the frame and other parts of the building.
NotesSubject Note: At 4:15 a.m. on 18 January 1978, during a major snowstorm, the roof of the arena of the Hartford Civic Center collapsed and fell 83 feet to the floor. Just hours earlier, the arena had been packed with spectators at a hockey game.
