DescriptionDrawing of the reconstruction of the roof of the Civic Center after its collapse, from an elevated perspective. The frame of the roof has been constructed or is under construction, and there is a crane in the center of the arena that is carrying a pallet. Construction workers are visible on the site. In the background other Hartford buildings are visible.
NotesSubject Note: At 4:15 a.m. on 18 January 1978, during a major snowstorm, the roof of the arena of the Hartford Civic Center collapsed and fell 83 feet to the floor. Just hours earlier, the arena had been packed with spectators at a hockey game.
