DescriptionDrawing of the debris removal process following the collapse of the Civic Center's roof in Hartford, Connecticut, from an elevated perspective. Part of the collapsed metal frame is still in place on the far side of the arena. Two cranes, a truck and other vehicles sit on the arena floor, clearing debris. Several construction workers are visible in the foreground. Masonic Hall is in the background.
NotesSubject Note: At 4:15 a.m. on 18 January 1978, during a major snowstorm, the roof of the arena of the Hartford Civic Center collapsed and fell 83 feet to the floor. Just hours earlier, the arena had been packed with spectators at a hockey game. (Finlay 2/26/2014)
