She uses a set of fireplace tongs to pin the mouse's tail to the wood floor. A bed with bed curtains and a fringed bedspread is in an alcove at the left. A footstool is on a rug beside the bed. A candle in a candlestick is on a candlestand, and a bonnet hangs from a hook on the wall. A second bonnet and cloak are on a chair at the far right. A framed painting and an unframed notice or print hang on the wall at the right. Patterned wallpaper is on the wall. A cylindrical box, probably a hat box, is on a wooden shelf above the painting. A key is in the lock of the door.
