DescriptionA boy lies on the ground beside a large, long-haired spotted dog, possibly a setter. The boy wears a shirt, vest, trousers, and a straw hat. There are patches on his vest and pants. A girl wearing a dress, apron, and a plaid shawl stands behind him. She holds a basket of grasses. Hanging from a tree trunk at the right are a gun, probably a musket, a powder horn, a ramrod, a cap, and a game bag trimmed with fringe. The oval image is surrounded by a rectangular border decorated with stylized flowers and leaves.
