DescriptionPale blue leather slippers, with oval toe, short vamp, rounded throatline, and very short Italian heels. The toes are decorated with a cut-out rosette design, backed by cream-colored silk satin. The edges are tamboured, with an additional tamboured flourish above the cut-out design. A small blue satin ribbon bow is mounted at the top of the throatline. The slipper is lined with soft white leather in the quarters, and plain-woven linen in the vamp and sock lining. The lining is worn away in the back of slipper ".b," revealing an interlining of black leather to stiffen the heel area. The throatline is edged with matching blue leather. The slippers are straight, but the distinct wear on the sides of the shoes indicate that ".a" was worn on the left foot, and ".b" was worn on the right foot.
