DescriptionA chain link fence and a street light are in the foreground. A fire escape is in the center of the composition, in back of a tall narrow building, probably a commercial building, possibly with apartments on the upper stories. A striped barber pole indicating the presence of a barber shop is in the alley or narrow street at the right. The building in the background is presumably on Main Sreet.
NotesDate Note: The painting was included in an exhibition of the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts in March 1955. It was probably executed slightly earlier than that date. (Finlay 1/14/2014)
