DescriptionExterior view of the back of Antoinette Phelps' house at 72 Washington Street in Hartford, Connecticut. The building is at least three stories tall and also appears to have both a basement and an attic. It has many windows and there is ivy covering some parts of the exterior. There are three chimneys with fluted tops emerging from different parts of the roof. On the left there is a small covered entrance/exit, with a set of steps leading down into the grass. There are trees to the left of the entrance, one small tree at the foot of the steps, and a tall stump a few feet to the right of it.
NotesCataloging worksheet in object file states that Antoinette Phelps was Mary Pierson Cheney's aunt. It also says she raised Mary after Mary's mother died, and that the house [at 72 Washington Street] was torn down to build the Connecticut Children's Medical Center.Status
