DescriptionView of the exterior of Antoinette Phelps' house at 72 Washington Street in Hartford, Connecticut. The house is at least three stories tall and has many windows. The exterior walls are covered with ivy. There is a small portico and porch by the front entrance, and a low wooden fence running in front of the house. There is a sidewalk in front of the fence. Between the sidewalk and the road there are two large trees that partially obscure the view of the house.
NotesCataloging worksheet in object file states that this is the house where Mary Pierson Cheney was raised, by her maternal aunt Antoinette Phelps, after her mother died. Cataloging worksheet also states: "the house was torn down to build the Connecticut Children's Medical Center."Status
