DescriptionView of an unidentified woman, Mary Marquand, and Horace Bushnell Cheney, Jr. on the top of a mountain in the Adirondacks in Keene Valley, New York. In the foreground, Horace lays over the edge of a steep rock. He has an exaggerated look on his face, as though pretending to be falling. One of the women, probably Mary Marquand, lays across two rocks and looks like she is holding onto him. The other woman, far to the left, reaches down and grabs Mary's ankle with her right hand. Behind them all that is visible is the mountains and river valley far below.
