DescriptionMen and women stand indoors in two lines, facing each other. The building is rustic and may be the interior of a barn. The line on the left has one woman and six men. The one on the right has six women. At the far end of the building a man stands playing a fiddle or violin. The pair immediately in front of him hold hands, and the woman's arms are crossed as though she has just completed a spin. Included in the group are Charles Cheney, William Coates Cheney, Walter Bowden Cheney and Frank Cheney, Jr. The dance took place at the Cheney family vacation home in Marlborough, Connecticut.
