DescriptionCream-colored silk satin shoe with a slightly pointed, up-turned oval toe, pointed tongue, and narrow Louis (or "Italian") heel. The toe is embellished with metallic sequins and silk and metallic thread embroidery in a design with pink flowers. Latchets extend from the quarters and would have buckled over the instep. The silk is lined with plain-woven linen; the sock lining is also plain-woven linen; the upper is bound with silk tape. The leather sole is continuous over the front of the heel. The shoe is straight, but wear marks indicate that it was worn on the left foot.
